Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked in a corporate role and understand the challenges that work related stress, uncertainty and change can place on mental well-being.

I am a registered member of the BACP and work in accordance with their ethical code of practice.

How I Work

Feelings can be difficult to understand; at times they may be overwhelming, leaving you wondering why you feel the way you do. Using a psychodynamic approach, I aim to bring an awareness to the emotional processes that shape how you feel. This includes exploring past experiences and how they continue to influence how you feel and relate. Together we can reflect on patterns formed in the past and consider how they may be affecting you now.

Counselling offers a different kind of conversation, one where you can speak freely without advice or judgement, it’s a space just for you. My aim is to build a trusting, collaborative relationship where you feel supported. I work in a way that respects your individual experiences and background, focusing on what you need and what feels helpful to you. Together, we can explore whatever you bring to therapy and help find a new sense of balance and way forward.

I understand that taking the first step to seek support can feel daunting, and it may be hard to know where to begin. After you contact me, I offer a free phone call to discuss your current situation and answer any questions you may have. If you then decide to book a first session, we will arrange a suitable time. This initial session gives you the chance to experience how I work and decide if you would like to continue working together. It also helps me ensure that I can offer you the support you need.

Where I Work

I am based in St Albans and Wheathampstead and my practice extends across Hertfordshire, including St Albans, Harpenden, Welwyn, Hemel Hempstead, Hatfield and further afield. I also offer online sessions via Teams.

Both locations have free on street parking, along with access to a small car park when available.
